About Mark Schecter
Mark S. Schecter is the founder of Schecter Law, Fort Lauderdale’s commercial litigation and real estate law firm.
Mark was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Searingtown, New York.
He received a congressional appointment to the United States Merchant Marine Academy, at Kings Point, New York. While at the Academy, Mr. Schecter was a member of the Varsity Basketball team.
After serving his country overseas, including time in Vietnam, Mr. Schecter decided that he wanted to be an attorney. He then enrolled in the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
Mark graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, he was an editor of the law review, a justice of the moot court board, and received numerous academic awards, including inclusion in Who’s Who in American Colleges & Universities.
Mark’s practice emphasizes commercial litigation and real estate law. He is an aggressive and tenacious litigator. His extensive trial and transactional law experience – coupled with his extensive knowledge of real estate law makes him uniquely qualified to handle both sophisticated civil litigation and transactional matters.
During his leisure hours, Mark spends time participating and watching numerous sports. His favorites are basketball, football and lacrosse. For years, he traveled to watch his son, David, play varsity lacrosse at Yale University, where David was a two-time All-Ivy player and played professionally in Major League Lacrosse.
